See Chris Sing!!

Need something to do this weekend? Come hear Chris sing the part of Gabrial THIS Friday and Saturday ONLY!!! You can purchase tickets here. This is a wonderful musical presentation taken directly from the scriptures and has an awesome cast of well know  performers doing the solos (many of them former Broadway performers... remember her?) It will be a great way to get into the true spirit of the season and remember the Savior and his birth. We hope to see you there!!

*This is not really something you would take small children to.*

Old Friends

Chris went to high school with a very talented group of people and was part of the choir/theater crowd (big surprise... I know). The day after Thanksgiving they decided to have a "Friends Concert". They rented a facility and everyone was invited to perform and they even recorded it and made a CD for everyone. It was a full, fun day. We gathered in the morning to rehearse some group numbers, had a lovely brunch and then went to do the performance. It was quite entertaining and so fun to be with everyone. The best part was watching all of our children playing together. We are so glad we did it and plan on making it an annual tradition. Here are a BUNCH of pictures from the performance (I wish I'd gotten more pictures of all the kids) in no particular order (basically, however they loaded into blogger). I tried to get everyone but I'm sure I missed some... sorry. Thank you all for being our friends... we loved spending the day with you!

Celebrating 14 years

Chris and I had a great time celebrating our anniversary. I didn't take a single picture but I wanted to tell you about it anyway.  Cassidy came right after school on Friday to stay with the kids while we escaped. That evening we went and saw 'Twilight' and then had an amazing dinner at the Tree Room up at Sundance. This is a true dining experience that you must try if you never have, excellent food and atmosphere. It is pretty pricey though so don't take the kids and go with an empty stomach. We actually had a large gift certificate that covered a lot of the cost so we felt better about it. We stayed the night at the Zermatt Resort in Midway. It is one of our favorite places but we had never been there without the whole family. It's a whole different place in the winter with all the lights. On Saturday morning we enjoyed massages at the spa- our gifts to eachother- and relaxed until we absolutely had to leave the room. Oh yeah, we had a certificate for a free night at Zermatt so, other than the massages and our light breakfast at the bakery, we didn't spend a penny... Yeah! Then it was off to Park City for a little Christmas shopping at the outlet mall. I hadn't been there for years and never quite understood the appeal. Well,  it has grown a ton and there are some great stores. I'll probably be spending a lot more time up there. Of course we only bought things for ourselves... Merry Christmas to us!! Then we hurried home so Chris could catch the "BIG GAME" and I went back to reality. It was a fun weekend and I loved having some one-on-one time (+Coleman) with my best friend and sweetheart. I wish we could do that at least once a month... I think we both could really use it.

Ein Dawn

As most of you know, I have a very talented husband. He also has a very talented brother. Last Christmas they decided to record a couple of Christmas songs just for fun. They made it their gift to everyone for Christmas and we distributed many CD's as well as directing all of our friends and family to this site, where you can download the songs for free and read more about their little project. I've had quite a few people ask me for the link and so I decided to post it. I've also added it to my links on the right. Happy listening.

*You can't actually download them right now because the account expired. Chris will fix it today so try later*

14th Anniversary

Today is our 14th Anniversary!! It has gone so fast... and also feels like it's been forever. It's been amazing, full of ups and downs and lots of love. We have had so much fun together and I feel lucky and blessed for all that we have. I am so grateful for Chris and for our life together. Words can't even express the love I feel for him so I won't try to do that here.

I love you, Chris! Thank you for the love you've given me. I can't wait for the next 14 years!

(Can you believe how young we look in that picture... we were BABIES!! ... and what's with the HAIR?)

Happy 37th Birthday!!

Today Chris turns 37 years old! Instead of listing 10 things about him I am going to ask each member of our family why they love him...

Max-"I love my dad because he's awesome and he teaches me stuff and he helps me to make the right choices and he supports me."

Abby-"My dad is the best dad ever because he cares for me and loves me. I am glad for my blessings and it's all because of my dad and Heavenly Father. He plays with me and has fun with me and loves me."

Afton is a true daddy's girl. She loves to be with him, cuddle with him, talk to him on the phone... everything! She loves it when he gets home and is the first one to greet him with a huge smile and a hug.

Coleman is just happy to be on earth and knows he wouldn't be with out his dad! (hee hee)

Katie- "I just love Chris a ton. The reason 37 sounds so old to me is because he was 22 when we started dating. That's a long time together! I have loved being with him. I love everything about him (almost- you know, no one's perfect- unless you ask his parents!). I am so grateful for who he is and for my life with him. Happy Birthday, Babe. Thank you for everything you bring to my life! XOXO!!"

Happy Father's Day

I know I'm a day late... we were on an awesome vacation (I'll post it as soon as I crawl out from under this mountain of laundry and I figure out how to condense 269 pictures into an interesting post... hopefully later tonight). We had a great Father's Day. We actually gave Chris his gift early... he went on an awesome river rafting trip with "the guys" last month and had a great time. Yesterday we were able to see 3 of the 4 living fathers/grandfathers: My grandpa (through my mom) was with us on our vacation, we had dinner with my dad and then we visited with Chris' dad. We missed seeing my other grandpa (through my dad)... so Happy Father's Day to you! We want everyone to know how much we love and appreciate you. You are all so important to us and we are grateful to have you in our lives. We also want to recognize those that have already passed away for the impact they had on our lives as well. We know we wouldn't be where we are today without the sacrifices of our ancestors. So, again, Happy Father's Day to all of you!
All of us with my dad, Reed J. Farnsworth.
(You're on my blog again, Dad!)
All of us with Chris' Dad, J. Marvin Higbee.
The best dad in the whole world... I hope my children realize how lucky they are to have such a great dad. He truly is amazing and I feel blessed to be his wife. Happy Father's Day to you, especially! (And I'm not just being nice to make up for that last post!)

My husband is hot...

...and he just keeps getting hotter, which is probably a good thing since I'm pretty much stuck with him at this point. While at the pool the other night the light was so good and, let's face it, even I can only take so many pictures of my kids in the pool, so I shifted my focus to my super cute sweetheart.

I love how the light hits his face. He looks so peaceful and you can just catch a glimpse of that very sexy 5 o' clock shadow.

Check out those smoldering eyes giving me the "come hither" look... MMMmmm! How could I ever say no?

I love his quiet confidence... absolutely iresistable.

And then

he did

(wait for it)

this...

And I'll just leave you with that lovely image.
Please, feel free to click on the image to see it larger.
Have a nice day!
