AHS Dance Festival (1/31/08)

The annual AHS Dance Festival was a hit again this year (although I don't think anything will ever top how cute Abby was doing the Chicken Dance with the kindergarten last year!) Do you remember doing dance festivals in elementary school?...such memories! Anyway! Abby did the Spanish Hat Dance with the rest of the 1st graders and was so into it it was funny. She took this thing very seriously. Max, not so much. He was a little bugged by the whole thing...especially the fact that he had to dance with a girl. In the end he did great....they both did!

AHS Spelling Champ- Almost! (1/29/08)

Max had the opportunity to participate in the All School Spelling Bee again this year. It starts in the classroom with a written spelling test, the top ten scores then compete in a classroom spelling bee and the 1st place winner goes to the school spelling bee.  Max studied very hard in preparation for the big day.  Things went pretty much the same as last year:  he was calm and cool, got 4th place, was the youngest left, and he was a very good sport (which is what makes me the most proud).  The word that did him in? FURLOUGH, which he spelled FURLOW (As a side note, when I called my mom-whom I consider to be a very intelligent woman- she spelled it the same way). You can bet that he will never spell that wrong again!

AHS 1st Grade Devotional (1/24/08)

Abigail was excited to participate in the 1st grade devotional at school. She loved dressing up like a pioneer, sang out with all her heart, and did a great job delivering her line: "It was a sad time for the Saints. Angry men put Joseph Smith in jail again.  On a hot day in June 1844, a mob of angry men came to the jail in Carthage, Illinois and killed Joseph and his brother, Hyrum. The Saints were very sad that their prophet was dead, but Joseph's testimony will forever live in our hearts."

Meeting Sarah (1/18/08)

My kids couldn't wait to meet their newest cousin, Sarah. Here they are with her at 4 days old. Afton actually wanted nothing to do with her, but Max and Abby were really excited!

Welcome Little One! (1/14/08)

My little brother, Sam, and his sweet wife Saundra welcomed their 4th child, a little girl, on January 14, 2008...two weeks earlier than expected. They named her Sarah Lynette Farnsworth.  I was honored when they asked me to bring my gear to the hospital to take some "first pictures" of her.  Honestly, they didn't turn out that great, but we did get a few good shots... and I learned a lot for next time. In these pictures Sarah is 2 days old...I love how wrinkly brand, new little babies are.
