One of his latest obsessions is 'Fablehaven' and he finished the 3rd book within days of it being released. He says the author, Brandon Mull, is his favorite author of all time... pretty big statement from a kid who has read a lot. Anyway, you can imagine his excitement when he found out he would be doing a book signing at the Barnes and Noble near our home. This was an event that could not be missed and was pretty much all he talked about for the two weeks leading up to it. It was his first ever book signing and I think it lived up to all his expectations. He met his hero, got 4 books signed, had his picture taken and walked away with a smile on his face. Awesome!

Hello, Higbees! It's so fun to stumble across your blog.
It sounds like Jane and Max might be kindred spirits in reading. Last year Jane started reading Harry Potter and wanted to finish the first book before her 6th birthday, which was a few weeks away. By the time her Harry Potter birthday party rolled around, she was already halfway through the second book. Just last week she finished book seven, a couple of weeks before the end of her first grade year. This kid devours every book she can get her hands on.
Congratulations on your pregnancy! May the summer be short and cool.
Did I mention that your kids are really cute?
